Need
Integration with banks
JP Morgan faced the need to connect to a series of banks that operated within the Interbanking network, which uses SNA networks for its transactions. However, its infrastructure was not prepared to interact with this type of networks, which created a barrier to efficient integration with these banks.

Solution
The project began with a consulting phase to analyze the viability of the solution.
The central question: Can a network emulator be created to integrate operations with the Interbanking network through SNA?
Although we knew the answer beforehand, the evaluation to find out how we would do it was intense. It was decided to create a network emulator using Biztalk Server as the main tool to handle the necessary communications and adaptations between JP Morgan and the banks connected through the Interbanking network. More specifically, BizTalk Server was used to connect its modern TCP/IP infrastructure with banks using SNA networks, transforming and managing the communication between both technologies.

Development
- Initial Consulting: The viability of the project and the appropriate technology (Biztalk Server) were determined.
- Planning and Timeline: A detailed schedule was created to develop the emulator and coordinate the necessary tests.
- Team Formation: A multidisciplinary team of experts in networks, development and integration was assigned.
- Live Testing: Since a test environment (mainframe) was not available, the tests had to be carried out live, which involved the implementation of exhaustive controls and monitoring to avoid risks in JP Morgan's daily operations.

Areas and equipment
- Network Architecture: We assign an architect to design the emulation solution.
- Development in Biztalk: .NET developer to adapt and customize the tool to specific requirements.
- System Integration: To guarantee fluid communication between the different platforms.
- Supervision: We assign a Project Manager to supervise and manage the project.
Result
- Successful Integration: JP Morgan was able to efficiently connect with banks in the Interbanking network, which optimized financial transactions.
- Process Optimization:The solution allowed JP Morgan to reduce operation times and improve the reliability of transactions.
- Guaranteed Security:Despite not having an offline testing environment and having to carry them out live, no incidents were recorded thanks to the strict security measures implemented during development.
